My Collection: Metallic gold swirl Alexis gown

This gown was worn by Joan Collins as Alexis Carrington Colby on "Dynasty", to the 1986 Emmy Awards, in the intro for season 7 of "Dynasty", and in a photo shoot with Diahann Carroll and Linda Evans.

Joan wore this gown in episode 152 of season 7 "Romance".

Alexis wears this gown on a date with Dex at the Carlton Hotel.  Dex has rented out the entire dining room and later proposes to Alexis in this scene.

This gown is black fabric woven with rows of flat, gold, metallic thread with various levels of exposure to create the pattern.  The pattern is free flowing and abstract, consisting of what looks like the swirled ripples of oil on water and also leaf-like formations.  The neckline is plunging and held in place with a length of metal wire sewn underneath the fabric from shoulder to shoulder across the front of the gown.  The gown features a low cowl back, large shoulder pads, a high center slit, and a double fish-tail sash that is gathered at the middle front below the waist.  The inside of the gown contains a built in corset and black satin slip anchored with small weights on either side.

WANTED: Pink beaded with silver leaf appliqués Alexis gown

This is another Nolan Miller Dynasty creation that has been altered. When Joan wore this gown on Dynasty it had long sleeves. When Joan wore this gown again later for a Dynasty photo shoot, the long sleeves had been removed and ruffled tutu-like sleeves had been added. Emma Samms wore the original long sleeved version of this gown to an event. Alexis wore this gown in season 6 of Dynasty, while at her penthouse apartment with Ben, Blake's estranged brother.

Something strange-- when the gown is seen first, on Dynasty, there are three separated leaf appliqués along the slit of the gown. When the gown was seen again at the photo shoot, with the new tutu-like sleeves, those bottom three appliqués are gone, yet the more current photos of the gown show that the bottom three appliqués are back again. I have no idea how this could be explained?

WANTED: Black beaded Krystle gown

This is probably one of my top 10 Krystle gowns. This black beaded gown was worn by Linda for season 9 promotional photos for Dynasty. The gown was never worn on the show. Linda also wore this gown to events. Stephanie Beacham wore this gown in a magazine pictorial featuring her as different famous Hollywood actresses, while wearing different Nolan Miller gowns. While wearing this gown, Stephanie was supposed to be portraying Sophie Loren. I think this gown looks much better the way Stephanie wore it, with a push up bra. It looks a bit matronly on Linda, who isn't showing much cleavage.

WANTED: White beaded two piece Alexis gown

This is the iconic gown that Alexis wore in the season 6 finale. After taking over Carrington mansion under Blake's nose, Alexis ends up getting strangled by Blake on the staircase, culminating in another dramatic cliffhanger! Season 7 begins with Alexis in this gown, escaping death thanks to Krystle intervening.  On Dynasty, Joan wore the top half of this ensemble, but wore a non-beaded skirt instead of the matching full length beaded skirt. Ann Margret wore the full set to an event and Stephanie Beacham also wore the full set in a magazine pictorial featuring her portraying different famous stars. Stephanie was supposed to be portraying Elizabeth Taylor while wearing this gown.
